My name is Yamaki Mitsuo. I am head of a Japanese organization known as Hypnos, created to monitor and protect the Network from ... outside interests.

My ... new associate here has filled me in on some of the basics, but I require more knowledge to judge my actions by, here.

...Takato-kun, if any of you or your friends are anywhere out there, and this is where you've been all this time? An explanation would be most appreciated.

...Reika, if you or Megumi can somehow read this, I'm fine.

...Furthermore, Keramon tells me of a group here called DATS. I think we may have...

Business to discuss.

Well, really, isn't that what all god's are? And yes, that's what I would equate it to as well personally, especially given the way it 'talks'.

Cure? I wish. So your assumption is correct; that was pretty stupid.

Unfortunately not. And, actually, to be honest? That old agent of the D-Reaper is...well...insignificant when compared to other threats. Of course, that is a personal and somewhat bias opinion, but if you find time to read through the backlogs you'll see what I mean.

I'll comb through these backlogs and see what I turn up, then. It was my intent to do so, but assessing my initial situation was most important.

...

I imagine Akiyama Ryo told you what the D-Reaper did to our world, correct? Or someone surely has. It may not seem like a threat NOW, but it wasn't in our world at one time, either.

Leave it unchecked, and everyone will regret it.

Oh, I understand, and you gave me something to do so thank you.

He did, though I'd heard about it from Guilmon of all sources about it years ago, and I know what it is capable of. However from my understanding a link to it's original source is required to actually cause wide-scale damage like it did in your world. That link is completely severed here, so what we're dealing with isn't the D-Reaper as a whole, but rather one stray agent.

That does make some since, but still...

If we are but code and data here, and the D-Reaper exists in ANY form, it could still be analyzed. If it can't evolve on its own, there's a possibility that certain parties could gain information from it that wouldn't exactly be to our advantage.

Beyond that, we can't say for CERTAIN what all it's capable of unless we got our hands on it.

Or better yet, destroyed it completely.

...That thing isn't the only thing about to leak information on us. These D-comm's have a habit of choosing the most inappropriate time's to malfunction.

I'm not saying it's not a threat, merely that a gay alien that can steal peoples hearts and warp their minds, or a telepath that can evolve into a dragon about, oh, 3 times stronger than any Perfect digimon are a bit of a more...immediate threat.

You were also curious about the inner workings of DATS I believe? I'm sorry if I'm rambling on but I currently have nothing else I can do and this is quite enjoyable.

...I'll keep that in mind, and make sure to double-check any encryption when I transmit classified information. I don't think I'll be having too much issue with all that.

...though, yes. Those are rather significant threats, I just wouldn't underestimate what kind of threat anything from the D-Reaper can pose.

...but, DATS. Go on.

Well, the simplest way of putting it is a Tamer's task force. Basically protecting both tamers and digimon from the various threats in this world, no matter what form they take. There are currently 2 branches; one at the Royal Base and one in Neon City. There are also both Primary and Secondary agents. Primary agents, such as myself, are put into units and tasked as such. Secondary agents are called upon whenever needed, however they are not a part of a specific unit.

A good assessment of it would be the Digital Worlds version of the Power Rangers, only without the cheap effects.

Just because the media in my world portrayed it as such does not make it true in yours.

The Digital World's version of---

...

...

Well. Besides that.

It seems like the logical thing to do, with the situation that's been handed to you.

I'm attempting to set up a discussion with someone in your command structure. With my experience working with Hypnos, I suspect there's something I could offer here.

From what I've heard from multiple sources I believe so too.

It actually surprises me that I don't mind DATS as much as I do. I have something of a vendetta out for military and government agencies in general due to events in my home world, but to be honest I find DATS to be much more fair and open than I had suspected. I am still always wary of any form of military or government, but I don't accuse so quickly any more.

I see. I suppose, depending on what's happened to you in life, that can be understandable...

But I hope you realize I am a government agent.

Mind you, I'm also very well convinced any number of my superiors are idiots. But that's beside the point.

I am quite well aware of that, and were you not able to realize your mistakes and redeem yourself I assure you I wouldn't be quite as amicable as I am right now.

Digimon in any form have been deemed an illegal presence and are to be executed on site, and any human shown to have any sort of contact with them is a criminal. Our governments extreme views have split the country in two and radical action has had to be taken to ensure equality for all beings. The last time I saw one of my best friends back home he was being dragged away in handcuffs, and I myself am a wanted man. You put a few extremist idiots in office and you end up with chaos. It's been a year and a half since I've been home...I only hope that things have changed for the better.

...Would have made a great continuation OVA for older audiences in your world probably. I wonder why Toei never took advantage of a storyline such as that.

...

Hrnn.

...

I once treated Digimon as a blight towards the order of the world. Unfortunately, by doing this, I missed the real threat the whole time... Yes, indeed, with the wrong people in charge, it's only a matter of time before things collapse in upon themselves.

As one of the people IN charge when something like that happened, I know this all too well.

Well, you realised your error and fixed it, so you're OK in my books Yamaki.

Plus, Ryo trusts you, so you can't be that bad.
